Define The Entire Powertrain Before Ordering Parts
Chevrolet Performance's Connect & Cruise packages are a useful model because they treat the engine, controller, transmission, converter, transmission installation kit and transmission controller as one system. A custom swap should be planned the same way even when you source the pieces separately.

Before First Start
- Verify oil, coolant and fuel leaks with the system pressurized.
- Confirm throttle/pedal behavior and sensor plausibility.
- Check fuel pressure against the calibration/system requirement.
- Read DTCs before extended running.
- Confirm charging voltage, fan operation and transmission fluid level strategy.
Do not let the first startup be the first time you think about the fuel system, grounds or transmission controller. Those are design decisions, not finishing touches.
